So I've been keeping my eyes out on ebay for a while now for a decently priced sophos unit to replace the SFF pc I had running pfsense #RackMountEverything. 2 XG 105 appliance and immediately thought this was the perfect little pfSense hardware. I have pfSense on an XG310 (rev1) that'll go into production this weekend, replacing an aging firewall. Well lo and behold I got lucky and found a listing for a 310 rev 2 at a very reasonable $150 (+ shipping). This allows me to use an IGMP proxy and get IPTV working, as my provider has recently started allowing their customers to use their own modem. Choose the standard settings in the installer, and choose the disk to install PFSense to. I fancied I would get a UTM Home license, but when I go to activate it I get an error: "Cannot use ASG software license on SG310 device" Looking through the forums for similar messages, I am not . Developed and maintained by Netgate®. After reboot, set up the intial settings (All PFSense releated and not covered here) Feb 28, 2018 ยท Did anyone ever successfully installed PFSense on those type of Sophos appliances ?
